With increasing adoption of EdTech in India by governments and private educational institutions alike, often apparently unquestioningly, there is a need to collectively study and engage on this important subject, and draw attention to ways in which technology can both positively and negatively influence educational practices, systems, and policies, and better advocate for more inclusive, equitable, and human-centered technological solutions.
Critical EdTech India (CETI) is a community of practitioners who have come together to examine educational technology through a lens of inquiry that questions its underlying assumptions, power dynamics, and social, economic, political, and ethical implications. It challenges the dominant narratives around technology in education, exploring how it intersects with issues such as inequity, access, and societal impact.
